Neonatal Critical Care Workshop
  • Oxygenation is affected by several factors such as the inspired oxygen concentration (FiO2), mean airway pressure (MAP), the area of and diffusion across the gas exchange surface.
  • Ventilation refers primarily to the amount of carbon dioxide exchanging at the alveolar level. Factors which influence this include the gas exchange surface area and diffusion and the amount of gas able to be moved in and out of the lungs.
  • Neonatal Critical Care Workshop will focus on the practical aspects of assisted ventilation for newborn infants. Format for the workshop will be skill-oriented with an emphasis on group work and tutorials. The class size will be limited to 10 people each day on a first come first served basis.
Aims of the workshop:
  • The aim of the course is to explore concepts of contemporary on Neonatal Ventilation theory in order to develop your knowledge within a multi professional clinical settings
  • Contribute to and manage a high performance and effective skills in management of infant on invasive and non invasive respiratory support
  • Develop your ability to link theories with practice through critical skills assessment and clinical competencies
  • Confidently challenge current health and social care practices, and use appropriate evidence to articulate your views.
