Healthcare Assistant Clinical Skills Workshop

  • The HCA Clinical Skills Workshop is designed to provide learners with the underpinning concepts to explore their knowledge and clinical skills in the healthcare setting.  HCAs are valued members of the nursing team, they  need to be supported by registered Practitioner to enhanced their skills, and to deliver safe evidence based practice. HCAs must not be expected to perform tasks for which they are deemed competent to perform (RCN, 2011).

Aims of the workshop:

  • The aim of the course is to provide learners with knowledge, skills and necessary attitudes to participants regarding Healthcare Clinical Complex Skills’ updates at workplace that enable them to practice comprehensive assessment, critical thinking skills and total quality care to their patients.

  • Stool Collection
  • Indication for Stool Specimen Collection
  • Intake and Output Recording- Practical
  • Bone Fracture
  • Back slab Plaster Cast Practical
  • Wound Assessment and Management
  • TIMES Assessment Tool
  • Wound Closures Management
  • Pressure Ulcer
  • Classification of Pressure Ulcer Severity
