Clinical Placement for Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP)

Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP) - NHSONP is also known as adaptation programme for Nurses and Midwives who are registered outside the EU, EEA and Switzerland who came to UK and wish to  register in UK as RNs and  to work permanently. ONP runs by approved higher educational institution in the UK accredited in Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). The ONP combines both theoretical and supervised practice learning under the supervision of Registered Nurse with Mentorship qualifications. The supervised clinical placement was very rare and some students were advised by Universities to find and secure clinical placement in NHS or Nursing Homes prior to their enrolment for ONP. Some were already enrolled in ONP and find difficulties to look for their placement.

GHP Ltd work in collaboration with the NHS Trusts in finding a suitable clinical placement and secure an acceptance letter for supervised practice placement. In addition to NHS staff registered mentors, GHP has Clinical Link Nurses that will support the candidates in clinical placement throughout the programme. Clinical Placement for ONP

To secure a clinical placement, you will need to have the following:

  • NMC decision letter
  • Original Passport  with right to work or study in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (Adult and Children)
  • Occupational Health records
  • Two (2) references Clinical Placement for Overseas Nursing Programme
  • Membership to RCN or Unison
  • GHP completed application

GHP will not be responsible for your ONP programme theoretical learning in the University. However, GHP can advise you on which University the NHS Trust are linked. GHP will not be responsible for any immigration visa issues. Candidates will need to have the right to work or study visa in the UK during the duration of Clinical Placement.
