Breakaway Techniques Training
GHPL is working along side with: CP Training Solution
- The one-day Breakaway Techniques training combined with theory and practical sessions. Delegates will practice carrying out breakaway moves safely; these includes non-restrictive physical skills and personal safety strategies. This course is accredited by GSA (General Services Association) standards and has been to British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD). Accreditation to BILD is working in conjunction with CP Training Solution.
Aims and Objectives
At the end of the sessions, candidates will be able to:
- To reflect on and recognise warning signs and symptoms and different stages of conflict escalation
- Describe local/national developments in preventing and managing violence and aggression
- To be aware of and manage your own verbal and non-verbal skills in order to calm confrontations and also summon for help appropriately
- To understand how you respond to anger and aggression, signalling non-aggression through body language
- Demonstrate skills you can use to calm a situation
- Have an awareness of the benefits and limitations of disengagement skills
- Knowledge of Breakaway skills to be gained through Paired practice
- Explain the rational for debrief and post incident review
